Spring training day trip: Marlins and Cardinals at Roger Dean
Last reviewed: November 6, 2026. Sources for this page are listed in its fact sheet.
Short answer first. Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, at 4751 Main Street, Jupiter, FL 33458, is the spring training home of the Miami Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals, and it's about 90 minutes by car from Miami in normal traffic. The stadium's own description makes the claim that sells the trip: it's the only complex in the United States that hosts two Major League spring training teams, plus two minor league teams, with the clubs sharing the park from mid February to late March. One honest limit up front: the Marlins hadn't published their 2027 spring home dates on marlins.com when this guide was checked on November 6, 2026, so this page prints no date list. Resale and aggregator sites list February and March dates that disagree with each other on opponents and times. Those lists aren't a schedule. When the club posts its dates, that's the list to plan from, and this page updates with it.

Why Jupiter is worth the drive
Spring training is baseball at its closest range: smaller park, players within talking distance, and two clubs' worth of games in one place, which doubles your odds that a home game lands on the day you can go. A Marlins home date and a Cardinals home date are different products in the same building, and visiting fans of either club plan Florida trips around this park every spring. From a Miami base, Jupiter is the one Grapefruit League trip that works as a true day trip without an overnight bag. Leave after breakfast, take in a day game, and you're back for dinner. That math is the whole guide. Everything else is execution.
The drive plan
Jupiter is about 88 miles north of Miami, roughly an hour and a half in normal conditions. I-95 is the direct line. Build the day backwards from first pitch: day games mean a mid morning departure at the latest, and the I-95 corridor between Miami and Palm Beach County thickens on weekday mornings, so a weekday game wants an earlier start than a weekend one. Treat the 90 minutes as the good traffic figure, because that's what it is. If the game matters, arrive with slack, park once, and let the ballpark be the calm part of the day. Our Palm Beach day trip guide fills the rest of a Palm Beach County day if you're making a full outing of the drive.
The Brightline plan, and its last leg
Brightline does not serve Jupiter. The railroad runs six stations: MiamiCentral, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Orlando. West Palm Beach is your station, and the last leg from there to the ballpark in Jupiter is a rideshare or a rental car. That transfer is the fact that decides between the two plans. Driving puts you at the stadium gate on your own schedule. The train removes the I-95 drive and replaces it with a fixed train time plus a car at the other end, which suits a visitor who is car free in Miami and prices the rideshare leg into the day. Our Fort Lauderdale Brightline trip guide shows how the station pattern works on the same line. Either way, don't improvise the Jupiter leg at the platform. Book it with the ticket.

Bag and parking rules: check the stadium, not a roundup
This guide prints no bag policy and no parking price, on purpose. The stadium's own information pages are the source of record for both, and secondary write ups of the bag rule currently contradict each other, one set describing a near no bag policy and another describing a size allowance. Both can't be right, and printing either would risk your gate entry. Before you travel, open the information and policies pages at rogerdeanchevroletstadium.com and pack to the rule printed there. The same goes for parking prices. Day trip rule, stated once: for anything you'll be stopped at a gate over, the venue's own page on the week of your game outranks every guide, including this one.
After Jupiter: the season opens at home
Spring training ends and the real season starts almost at once. The Marlins open the 2027 regular season at home on Thursday, March 25, 2027 against the New York Mets at loanDepot park, the first of a three game series, with the Phillies in town March 29 to 31. Those dates come from Major League Baseball's 2027 schedule, released July 16, 2026. One caveat travels with them: reporting on the schedule notes the 2027 dates are contingent on a new collective bargaining agreement, with the current agreement expiring December 1, 2026. Plan the trip, hold the certainty loosely, and let marlins.com confirm the spring list and the opener as the winter firms up. If you're building a full baseball week, pair the Jupiter day with the ballpark days in our sports hub and a game day sun kit from Amazon's game day gear search. Florida sun in March is already a summer sun. Dress for it.

The facts that matter
Spring training facts checked November 6, 2026: Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is at 4751 Main Street, Jupiter, FL 33458, and is the spring training home of the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals, the only US complex hosting two MLB spring teams plus two minor league teams, shared from mid February to late March (rogerdeanchevroletstadium.com). The Marlins' 2027 spring home dates were not published on marlins.com at the check, so no dates are listed here. Brightline serves MiamiCentral, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Orlando, with no Jupiter station (gobrightline.com). The Marlins open the 2027 regular season at home on March 25, 2027 against the Mets, per MLB's 2027 schedule released July 16, 2026, with the Phillies series March 29 to 31; 2027 dates were reported as contingent on a new collective bargaining agreement.
Frequently asked questions
When are the 2027 spring games in Jupiter?
The season window is mid February to late March. The Marlins' exact home dates weren't on marlins.com in November 2026. Check marlins.com and the stadium site for the posted list, and distrust any date list a resale site gives you before the club publishes.
Can I get there without a car?
Partly. Brightline to West Palm Beach, then a rideshare or rental for the Jupiter leg. There's no station in Jupiter, so the last leg is road either way.
Is it a day trip or an overnight?
A day trip for a day game, at about 90 minutes each way in normal traffic. A night game plus a Palm Beach dinner turns it into a late return; that's a taste call, not a logistics problem.
Where do I check the bag rule?
On the stadium's own information pages at rogerdeanchevroletstadium.com, in the week of your game. This guide omits the rule rather than printing a version it couldn't verify against the venue.
