Knaus Berry Farm: the season guide for the new Redland location

Last reviewed: November 4, 2026. Sources for this page are listed in its fact sheet.

Short answer first. Knaus Berry Farm is open for the season at its new Redland home, 16790 SW 177th Ave, Miami, FL 33187, on Krome Avenue. The farm's own site lists hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, with Mondays closed. This season opened on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, and the farm's general manager has said it runs to May 9, 2027. The cinnamon rolls cost $2 for a single, $8.90 for a half dozen and $17.40 for a dozen on the posted menu, and there's a limit of four dozen per guest at the counter. Strawberry U-Pick hasn't started yet. It is expected from mid December into March, and the farm will post the first picking day on its social channels in early December.

What changed at the new location

The farm moved a few miles north of its old Homestead spot to this Krome Avenue site for the December 2025 season, under new ownership, keeping the recipes and the staff. 2026 is the farm's 70th year, and this is the second season at the new address, so a lot of the advice still floating around online points at the wrong place or repeats rules that no longer apply.

Three changes matter most. The farm is open on Sundays now, and closed on Mondays instead. It takes credit cards, Smart Pay and cash, so the old cash only warning is dead. There's more parking than the old site had, plus real bathrooms. Small things. Big difference on a Saturday.

One more change is worth knowing before you go. The counter limit is four dozen cinnamon rolls per guest. That cap is new this season, and the general manager has said it's there to keep the kitchen and the line moving. If your plan was six dozen for the office, read the ordering section below first.

Hours, season and the closed days

The farm's own site, knausberryfarm.com, lists 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays. Some outside listings still show a 5:30 p.m. close. The farm's site governs, so plan on 5 p.m. and check the site on the morning of your trip if a late run matters to you. The farm is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Easter.

The season opened on October 13, 2026. General manager and co-owner Joel White has said the season runs through May 9, 2027, which stretches the usual run and spreads the crowds out a bit. Treat May 9 as the farm's stated plan and not a promise set in stone. Farms answer to weather first.

Cinnamon rolls: prices and the four dozen limit

The rolls are the reason for the drive. On the posted menu checked for this page, a single cinnamon roll is $2, a half dozen is $8.90 and a dozen is $17.40. Pecan rolls come in a pan of ten for $21.50. Strawberry shakes are $6.60 for a small and $8 for a large. Prices move, so treat those numbers as the menu as posted in fall 2026 and not as a rate card for the whole season.

The bakery case goes wider than the rolls. The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau listing names pies in apple, cherry, blueberry, mango, guava, pecan and shoofly, and the farm sells breads, honey, jellies and local produce alongside the baked goods. Order a shake while you wait. It shortens the line, somehow.

Ordering ahead for big orders

Here's the workaround for the cap. Starting in November 2026, the farm has said customers can order online in advance for car pickup, from five dozen to twelve dozen rolls. Those rolls come pre-baked in bags. Want them hot out of the oven? You wait in line. Check the farm's site for the live ordering link before you count on it, since this is a new system in its first season.

Strawberry U-Pick: what is known so far

U-Pick is a winter thing here. The farm and the visitors bureau both put picking from mid December into March, Thursday through Sunday. The farm will announce the first day on its social channels in early December. Nobody honest can give you the date today.

So plan in two steps. Pick a December or January weekend that suits your group, then confirm the start date on the farm's Instagram or Facebook page in early December before you drive down.

How to work the line

Opening weeks draw the longest lines of the year. You don't need to camp out. You do need a plan. Weekday mornings are the calmest window the farm has. Saturdays are the worst.

Go early, and decide your full order before you reach the counter. The registers move fast when people know what they want. Bring a cooler if the rolls are riding back to the beach with you, and grab picnic basics ahead of time if you're eating in the Redland. Our travel essentials list for picnic blankets and cooler bags on Amazon covers the simple kit that suits a farm stop.

Make a South Dade day of it

Knaus sits in the Redland, and the drive from Miami takes close to an hour in normal traffic. Don't drive an hour for a twenty minute stop. Zoo Miami is on the way back toward the city, and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables turns the return leg into a full day. The Everglades day trip runs west from the same corridor, so a farm morning and a park afternoon fit on one tank of gas.

Most visitors sleep in Miami or Miami Beach and drive down for the day, since South Dade has a thin hotel supply. That is the right call.
